Monday Morning Memo

Week of 9/9/19-9/13/19

Our students are starting to get fully immersed in our music program.  With our Music Prep, AEP Release, and Music Club getting started, parents and students have been really excited about it.

Instructional Focus-

As developed with ILT and shared with all staff, our strategic plan focuses on three main areas.

·      A safe, collaborative, inclusive environment

·      High quality GVC

·      Teacher Clarity

During the first 20 days of school, I will be asking you how you created a safe inclusive environment.

Some of the questions you can expect are as follows:

1. How do you create collaborative partnerships with your students?
2. How do you create deep connections with all students?
3. What is your definition of a deep connection with your students?
4. What is your definition of team building for your students? 
5. What specific activities do you plan for to go beyond developing superficial relationships?

As I continue my instructional visits, please be prepared to not only receive feedback on instruction but your efforts to create a safe inclusive environment.

Annual Notifications-

You will have time to complete your Annual Notifications during your prep week.  The official due Date-Friday, October 4th.

Back to School Night-

As we get closer to our Back to School Night, Wednesday, 9/11/19, Please be prompt in the auditorium ready to have your name announced at 5:15.  I will then release you after announcing each of your names and rooms.  Parents will start going to your classrooms around 5:30. After 30 minutes we will ring a bell for the second rotation.  At 6:00, the day will conclude and you will need to go home and get back to your families.    

Area Superintendent Visit-

Kimie Lochtefeld will be visiting our school Tuesday, 9/10/19 to review our strategic plan and support for all students including English Learners and Students with Disabilities.  Please be aware that we may visit some classrooms during ELD time.

Fall—August 26 to November 15 (12 weeks)

Winter—December 2 to March 27 (15 weeks)

Spring—April 6 to July 17 (15 weeks)

Board Meeting-

I have been asked to share all the great things with our Board at the April Board Meeting.  This is an honor out of all the schools.  You should be proud of yourselves!
