Monday Morning Memo

5/13/19-5/17/19

One of the results that stem from number talks is the accuracy and precise academic language used by students during math.  This supports all students especially second language learners.  Using high academic vocabulary is not always easy for all students to use in conversations.  What I have noticed is that teachers are creating opportunities for students to use high academic vocabulary throughout all content areas.  Thank you and please continue to create those opportunities for your students!!!!

I wanted to thank these characters who cooked the fish for our Staff Appreciation Fish Taco BBQ.  They truly enjoy giving back and highly respect all the work you do.  I hope you enjoyed the meal.

Science Night was a tremendous success last week.  Thank you for showcasing your student work and creating an opportunity for parents to take part in their child's learning.

Instructional Focus-

I will be reviewing your schedules and selecting your Guided Reading times for observations and feedback.

I will also review schedules to set observation/feedback for your math time.  Please be prepared to discuss the learning targets your grade level has selected and how you have been implementing them into your math.
