Monday Morning Memo
Week of 10/21-10/25

Thank you to all staff for being engaged in our professional development this past week.  There are times when we have a long stretch between opportunities for PLC/PD and there are times when they happen back-to-back.  Regardless of when it happens, I am very proud to work with staff who continue to want to learn and continue to strive to be the best that you can be.  Thank you as always.  I know it isn't always easy, but I do appreciate your dedication and hard work.

As I visit PLCs and review minutes, it is critical that you are keeping in consideration your planning, data analysis, and professional learning based on our strategic focal points.

  • Safe, Inclusive, Collaborative Culture
  • Teacher Clarity
  • Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum

As you are implementing the aspects of Teacher Clarity during your time of safe practice, please keep in mind that I will be coming in for observations with a focus of those aspects of Teacher Clarity that we learned in professional development.  I am excited to discuss with you how you plan your lessons and strive to be at the ideal state of Teacher Clarity below.

IDEAL STATE OF TEACHER CLARITY

1.   Students will be able to communicate (verbally, written,
demonstrate…) to you/others the learning intention

2.    Students will be able to communicate to you/others what it takes to be successful in their work

3.    Students will be able to connect the work to the learning intentions and success criteria

4.    Students will be able to self-reflect and self-assess where who they performed in the task and what they learned and communicate to you and others

Field Trip Permission Slips-
Please make sure all field trip permission slips have the student’s name (legibly) and parent signature on all forms.  We have had legal implications from years ago due to this issue.

School Spirit-
This coming Wednesday, ASB will be going around to count how many students and teachers combined in a class are wearing our teal school shirts.  They will then pick a classroom winner from TK-2 and 3rd-5th.  Cathy will be advertising on the usual social media websites.  Please advertise this for your students as well.

PE Minutes
As the state of California reviews PE Minutes, individual teachers are required to enter PE information through a district Google Form.

Please click the link below and fill out the information about your PE minutes.  It is a short questionnaire that takes about 2-3 minutes.  Please complete it by Wednesday of next week.

Here is the link for the District PE Minutes document

School Tours-
As a reminder at any point during the school week, we may be giving a school tour

Universal and Lunch Forms-
Thank you for collecting these forms.  They are due this week.
