Monday Morning Memo
Week of 11/16-11/20
As we move closer to Thanksgiving and Winter Break, we continue to look to plan for phase II. Below is an example of a staff member currently working in Phase I with individual students while utilizing the Personal Protective Equipment that has been delivered to us. I will be seeking each of you out to have a discussion about what you need for Phase II. I will be inquiring about any accommodations you may need and how you envision the physical classroom to look like when we return to school in January. These discussions to gain your input will occur before Thanksgiving Break and before Winter Break.
Observations-
I will continue going into classrooms this coming week to give you feedback on your instruction.
I will be coming in with the lens of Learning Intentions and Success Criteria.
Conferences-Please remind parents of the change of schedule
- November will be dedicated as “parent-teacher conference month”
- There will be no Principal meetings the month of November to honor planning and preparation for conferences
- 120 minutes instead of 180 minutes of synchronous teaching for the original conference week
- Conferences should be completed no later than November 30th
APEX Prize Distribution-
Tuesday, 11/17 from 2:30-5:00 we will be having our APEX Fundraiser prize distribution. Please remind your students to come during this time frame. This will be the only prize distribution we will be having.
LCFF Documents-
As we look at funding for the upcoming year, our Free and Reduced Lunch forms usually give the state and the Feds an idea of what kind of LCFF and Title I funding we need. This year they are referring to the LCFF forms that we sent out to parents in October. Typically we are around 57% Free and reduced lunch.
As I have reviewed the amount of LCFF Forms that have been turned in we are short over 150 completed forms. Moreover, early indications show we are at approximately 35% Free and reduced giving us an inaccurate idea of the free and reduced lunch families in our school.
If we stayed this number, it would significantly affect our funding for Title I and some of our LCFF. This could impact significantly our amount of PLC days, the additional day for a counselor, EL Coordinator position, and other items
As we move into conferences, I am asking that you remind our parents during your individual meetings. Parents will need to gain access to the parent portal and follow the directions on the job aid below to fill out the very brief application (it took me 30 seconds for both my boys).
Here is the information from my parent letter in October to assist in your reminding parents. (FYI-they extended the deadline to December 10)

Each year our school is asked to complete the LCFF Family Survey. This information is private and will not be used for any other purposes. Crown Point needs this information to help ensure we receive all the state funding we are entitled to which impacts current positions such as the teacher professional development, an extra full-day for the counselor, and English Learner Coordinator. It will not affect your child receiving free meals at this school.
Please complete this form online ASAP to support our future funding of our school. You may choose the link to the English Steps or the link to the Spanish steps to enter Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) data in the Parent Portal.
If you are having difficulties gaining access to the Parent Portal, or if you have any further questions, please contact Tra-Vieica Nolte at tnolte@sandi.net or you may call her at 619-928-2396.
