Here is a memory from last year around this time when I gave up my body for the students and staff.  We miss you Trunk or Treat!!!

Observations-

  • I will continue going into classrooms this coming week to give you feedback on your instruction.  I will be coming in with the lens of Learning Intentions and Success Criteria.

 Conferences (All Grades)

  • Fall 2020 parent-teacher conferences reporting period window is November 9-December 4, 2020.
  • During the week of parent conferences, teachers will continue to provide 180 daily synchronous live, whole group, and small group instruction.
  • The remainder of the teachers’ workday should be dedicated to parent conference preparation and conducting the actual parent conferences.

Report Cards (All Grades)

  • The reporting period ends on November 6th. You can use any data up to that point but not after.
  • Report cards are due prior to the individual student’s conference and no later than December 4th.
  • Whether a family participates in conferences or not, we will remind them how to access and print their child’s report card.
  • Please be looking for a translation sign-up from Cathy and Marylin to support you in your conferences.  When you sign up, please put the Zoom link and password in the document.
  • Typically, we would print out report cards.  During online learning, you will need to have your electronic version of the report card prepared for your families.
  • When teachers all resume on-site learning, Tra-Viecia will get the hardcopies to out and we will need to schedule a time to get them into the cum files.

DRA (All Grades)

  • As there are roughly three weeks before the first day of conferences, as a reminder, we will need all students to be DRA tested and there levels uploaded to Illuminate in order to be on the report card document.
  • If you are in need of any materials to support your administration of the DRA, please do not hesitate to let me know.
  • Here is the link to the DRA Assement

FAST (Grades 2nd-5th)

  • As we get closer to report cards, please have your students take the aReading and aMath assessments before the administration deadline.
  • If you do not get them in before the deadline you will not be able to have your students take it late.  This means their scores will not be reflected in the Trimester 1 data.
  • Here is the link for student directions on how to access and take the test.

ZOOM SECURITY SETTINGS-we recently had intruders in a Zoom class meeting with a substitute teacher.  Please ensure you follow the protocol below.
  • Teachers need to set up Zoom meetings for authenticated users only
  • Teachers/students should not be using their personal email account (i.e. Gmail) to log in to zoom.
  • It is important that teachers set up authenticated meetings properly by following these 2 steps:
      • In settings, teachers must make sure the toggle switch is turned on for “Only authenticated users can join meetings.”
      • Next, when scheduling meetings, teachers must check the box that says “Only authenticated users can join” then use the drop down menu to select “SDUSD staff and students can join.”
  • Teachers should also enable the waiting room feature and not allow students to join before the host.
  • Please see job aid for more details.
  • Students must take additional steps to sign into authenticated meetings. Students should sign into sandiegounified.zoom.us prior to joining the zoom meeting. They can type this in the address bar or  find the link in Clever Click here for  job aid and video.
