CPJMA Monday Morning Memo
4/9-4/13
I appreciate staff always taking the time to discuss our behavior expectations. Please remember when you get to your lines to have them move at a level "one" speed with a level "zero" volume. This will assist in a smooth transition back into your lessons. Thank you for taking time to do so.
Instructional Focus-
As always, I will refer to your weekly calendar and the Critical to guide my observations. This will always guide my observations.
As we learn more about our focus students, I will begin to observe the support you offer your at-risk students in various sub-groups. Please refer to the updated 17-18 Consolidated Data Spreadsheet containing trimester 2 DRA data for your grade level. This will serve as a tool to guide your support to students in need. I have sent all teachers the current data to help fill in the blanks last week.
PD
We will be moving into Balanced Literacy and Guided Reading professional development. I will let you know as soon as I get the dates on the books for release.
Guided Reading-
We are looking into a small purchase to help add to our Guided Reading in our current bookroom (room 9). At the back end of PLC, we are trying to set up a rep for you to view some of their products. Otherwise, your ILT lead will be sending me your genre and title preferences. We hope to place an order before April 20th.
PLC- 4/11/18
We will start by reviewing our DRA data for T2 and the goals. Then you will break off to start the PLC process.
1. Before we start on next Wednesday, be prepared to have an agenda shared with me. It should include the following information below. You will also be asked to share with me your minutes as well.
2. We always are using data as part of this process. Please be prepared to share with me some of your formative data if that is your starting point.
3. If you are creating a formative assessment, please be prepared to share with me how it aligns with the format we have learned in your PDs
4. If you are unpacking a critical concept, please share with me the unpacking document you used.
5. In the minutes please explain how you used the unpacking, formative assessment and data to inform your decisions and how you used this to differentiate or intervene with your students.
