CPJMA Monday Morning Memo

Currently, we are working with ILT to determine the focus and needs of our school. Please do not forget to share any ideas with ILT.
I am already seeing great routines and structures being implemented by our teachers!!!!
Clear expectations and anchor charts are being added to classrooms for students to refer to for classroom academics and behavioral expectations
Classroom Observations- As I observe instruction this week, I will be coming in with the lens of structures and routines for Reading and Writer's Workshop as well as opportunities for engaging students.
Reorganization- We will be starting with the official reorganization changes first thing in the morning. I am asking if you could come out a few minutes early to help out with the transition. Please also make sure to be aware of the students who will be moving and the new students who you will be taking in.
Once again I am also asking that we communicate the same message.
1. The change was necessary due to the grade level classroom enrollment being out of balance.
2. What the heaviest weighted factor is and driving our decision-making is the data and most current information we have on your child to determine the best placement of students.
4. Letters were sent out last Wednesday informing parents of the possibility of change
5. Parents were called last week on Thursday and letters were sent home last Thursday and Friday confirming the official change of placement for only the students affected.
Dine out- We will be having a PTO fundraiser/dine-out at Woodstock's Pizza tomorrow, Monday, 9/18 from 4-9 pm. I will be there and hope we can have some staff and their families be there as well.
Open House- Wednesday, 9/20/17, we will be having Open House starting at 5:15 pm. Please be in the auditorium at 5:10 ready so I can announce you at 5:15. I will quickly release you and parents will be released at 5:30ish to your classrooms for the first rotation from 5:30- 6:00. At 6:00 there will be the second rotation for those families who have another child in another classroom. Open House will be completed at 6:30 pm. I will be going around to each classroom to ensure that you get home to your families as promptly as possible at 6:30 as well.
PLC Voting Forms- Please return your top-secret ballot to Angela Rieke as soon as you can if you have not done so already so we can count the votes tomorrow.
SGT (School-wide Discipline Plan)- The team has been released and created a draft of school-wide expectations and a calendar for our Character Traits Focus for staff to review. Please be looking out for a Google Link. When you receive the link, please make sure you are logged into your SDUSD account so you can open it up.
